They are not out of the woods yet, according to the article the court upheld the ruling that they broke the law it just dismissed the fine. This is not a win.
Just wondering how they broke the law exactly? A sale of goods is like a contract: both parties need to agree to it for the sale to proceed. Just because it is a cake does not mean that more rigorous contract law does not apply. We know that the gay guys were targeting this particular cake shop because they were Christian. The customers could have gone somewhere else, and they were not banned from the premises, the owner simply refused to decorate the cake a certain way, just as an artist can refuse to paint certain subject matter, or a publican can refuse to serve drunks.
Sometimes I wonder at the judges. However, at least this time the bakers don't need to pay the fine anymore. That's a big relief.

They don’t have to pay the fine. Don’t want to speak for the bakery owners but I bet they’d count it as a win.
