They love their leader. Their leader loves them and makes them feel special. They're told that they are good people and that they hold acceptable opinions. But then one day their leader abandons them and leaves them surrounded by people without any fucks to give. They feel like a small child because that is what they are. Their discomfort and fear can easily be overcome by finding the nearest horn and honking.
