OK, I love the scenes of celebration in Ottawa, but I really think the most meaningful protest is presently the less-flashy one in Coutts. The busiest border crossing on the highest border by commerce in the world is completely shutdown by a massive, seemingly endless protest. These guys have setup a city there! They have food, fuel and heating to get them through Spring.
Unlike the Ottawa protest, this protest cannot be cutoff for supplies. They have ATVs and folks on horseback.
Nothing short of a full military attack could break this protest up.
I would imagine that this is the model for effective vehicle-based protests - obstruction of key points of commerce and logistics. The city protests are clearly very important as well, but we should not overlook these forgotten protests.
The RCMP surround the protestors, and more protestors surround the RCMP. Then, the Cavalry comes in.
Excellent!
Excellent! They look comfy.😀. Hearing the plods (police tyrants) in Ottawa are stealing fuel.
I agree. It's great that the protest in Ottawa attracts all of the attention. Trudeau has painted himself into a corner on that one, and he has no graceful exit. He cannot be seen to be giving in to the demands, and the protest size has been controlled and limited so that, while it is an embarrassment for the government, it is not really that painful.
The border protest seems mostly out of media attention and can inflict real economic pain. The negotiations are also with the provincial government rather than with Trudeau, and the province seems more willing to move.
Thanks for sharing, thats great to see! I think all protests against tyranny, big or small, are awesome and a play a part. God bless every person seeking justice and freedom for all
