The left via unions solved the problem of police control decades ago. They structured their pay where half of it comes in the form of SWEET pensions. If the police step out of line they get fired and lose their pension. I'm sure there are plenty of power tripping idiots but there are also plenty of good people in the police that are between a rock and hard place. If they step out of line their family starves etc etc.
I don't know about Canada but in the USA we need some SERIOUS work done to restructure the way pensions etc are handled. Think about it. If I work for XYZ corporation for 10 years and I get fired. More often than not I still get my pension because its an independent fund. I have a contract. I worked. I get paid later. Why is it that cops pensions can be pulled and thrown away when they get fired? Its a method of control. Top down control.
I'm not an expert. I'm just saying look closer at it and you will see its a purpose built way to give a mayor and/or police chief total control of the police. So if you cheat in an election... you get control. With that control you can then cheat in every election going forward and... you are in control.
Philip Brailsford murdered Daniel Shaver, while Shaver while crawling towards him, begging for his life in his underwear. Shaver went to pull up his underwear, and was murdered for it.
Brailsford was fired, then rehired so he could collect his pension. Brailsford is a free man. He probably still believes he did the right thing.
Sigh. I've watched that Shaver video several times. I still almost vomit every time I hear the shots. Just pure murder. But yeah, they make you think he got punished then when you look away they un-punish him even though he seriously screwed up.
If you listen very closely the guy giving instructions contradicts himself. He is almost as much to blame. He did a shot job.
They always do that. Tell you two, or even three contradictory things. Turn around, get down, hands up, hands on top of your head, hands where I can see them, etc.
See? The police will follow the orders of their massas to the very end.
