You are right. They see no issue here because it is the way they have always been. Millenia of Chinese history tell of subjugation of the individual for the needs of the collective - the individual is meaningless. The Chinese society is considered as the one with many moving pieces. Anyone that disrupts the perceived well being of the one is met with severe pushback and removal. The life of the individual person has no value other than what it brings to the needs of the collective and that life is expendable in order to meet those needs. These attitudes have left the Chinese people mistrusting, not only of their government, but each other as well. It is rare for them to step out of expected behavior to help strangers. It has become a matter of self preservation in a society where a person means nothing. With a population that large, they have managed to control the people by shear brutality.

I don't blame the Chinese people. They just don't know life any different from the one they were born into. Let us be diligent in not allowing them to bring that crap over here. They really do fear us and our ideas. That is why they are so isolationist and always have been. We are the threat to their control - not the other way around. The only way they can defeat us is if we defeat ourselves.
