Whatever this is, we can be sure of one thing. It was not some freak accident. This was a deliberate move. We just don't know who is making the move and what the disinformation is.
I first got wind of this on weather.com. They have a video going on about a solar storm and Musk losing the satellites. The first thing I thought was, couldn't someone have predicted this? It seemed odd to me, too.
They are stationed at an lower altitude that puts them in an area of the ionosphere that can be subjected globally to high energy electromagnetic radiation through solar coupling when certain solar events transpire. The reality is we had an event and this coupling effect induced current into the satellites beyond the design spec of the satellites to withstand said induction.
Actually, I would recommend watching Ben Davidson on the suspiciousobservers channel as I personally have found his daily solar weather news and science reporting very interesting, informative, data driven, and useful. There is quite a lot coming out that is not mainstream, but is supported by observations from multiple fields which all line up in pointing to the same conclusion about our universe, astronomy, physics, and science in general.

Ahhh the fog of war, I just hope we get to read accurate accounts in the history books in 10 to 20 years!
We will probably find out long before that

Not as protected as you might think.

Here is a video which explains it well.

.....is there a chance they were testing something?
Is this the first time something like this has happened?
