I'm curious as to what law will be used to control this money. How will Canada attempt to freeze it? Will they declare that the protestors are terrorist? Will this lead to investigating the finances of other orgs like antifa?
I don't know Canadian law. But I worked in international payments for many years, and most countries have laws similar to our OFAC (office of foreign asset control). If you get put on that list, transactions with your name will be flagged and held. If it's really you, the US government will just take it, force the bank to hand it over. If you need banking services, being on that list (or having a name similar to someone on that list) will bankrupt you. I don't know how Canada's list works. In the US, the president simply declares and publishes the list.
