The ACLU says that if you haven't both hated and loved them for a stance or case they take, then they're not doing their job of protecting rights for everyone. They are concerned with and take on cases regarding a large variety of things, so most likely there are certain things you agree with them about as well as things you don't like that they take on, regardless of where one is on the political spectrum.
