He also said very hard things to take in. He confronted people's sins. Many took this as an offense, some took it to heart and were sorry for their sins. Notice how he responds to either one. Jesus truly had nothing to lose when someone didn't "like" him. He offered salvation, if you don't want it, then you have doubly chosen your awful fate.
