Everyone needs to ditch windows NOW and switch to linux. Pick up ubuntu or popOS (popOS I think is the most user friendly). It's completely free. All the free "libre office" apps come with it. Masterfully created and can easily create windows readable files such as docx. Starts you off using firefox browser, which is good enough for privacy reasons.
Installing things like games takes a little know how but there are endless guides on it. It really helps you obtain your own troubleshooting skills instead of keeping you in a "click to fix" mentality.
Well, not if you're just running Linux. If you want dual boot the easiest way to do that would be a separate drive for each OS.
But ubuntu and popOS have essentially streamlined the partitioning process to where you don't have to manually do it anymore. You can if you want which lets you get hands on with the boot process. I didn't know shit about computers till I started using linux.
Edit: UEFI vs MBR formatting can be annoying to learn. That's why I just stick to good old fashioned MBR. The ext4 partition format is masterfully done and works very well on an MBR drive. UEFI is the devil
GREAT TIPS Fren!!! I’m planning an Ubuntu install soon been collecting tips etc just for that. Last nite I was reading about TAILS & running it from a flash. Interesting. 👍🏽
