I never cared for celebrity deaths. Especially as I got older and realized how fake a lot of them are. Thankfully the veil is lifting and more people are realizing that these actors are nothing more than moneys dancing a dance. Beyond that they are typically empty and hollow...
But one man was not. One man was always the real deal. If you want to educate your normie friends on why Rush Limbaugh meant so much to you, have them watch the Family Guy episode "Excellence in Broadcasting". Rush was more than a guy on the radio. He was a surrogate friend that you could pretty much count on to be on the air across the land at the exact same time Monday through Friday.
But he was so much more than just another voice on the radio. Yes he was a pioneer and more or less responsible for the modern day podcast, but the humanitarian work he did spoke volumes to his character, but I think what really touched my heart was how much he actually tried to be there for his fans. It's impossible to keep up with 30 million people, but man did he try. Every story about meeting him was apparently always positive and the man never put on an act.
Though he had a few more shows after, I felt his Christmas closer in 2020 was his "good-bye"...

I still haven't listened to his actual last show and... not sure if I ever want to, honestly. I really miss him and wish we had him. However this community has done well in honoring his legacy in that we continue to push and share information for the truth. He may have left us too soon, but he didn't leave us unprepared. Though that void in our hearts may not be fulfilled any time soon... we know one Day it will.
I truly hope this. I too miss him daily, every day at 12:00. I now turn on his replacements as background noise as I work but it’s not the same (of course!) I do notice that they still use Rush’s music intro and I wonder why. I’m hoping that they are just keeping the radio spot for his triumphant return.
If anyone wonders why we still hope he is still alive - the Decoding Symbols site has a decode about him. He got cancer the same day that Coronavirus officially arrived in the US and some other weirdness.
I listened to Snerdley’s podcasts about Rush while driving last summer, sobbing at times.
So many great memories since 1992 for me. Rush was my lifeline during the Obama years. 15 hours of hope weekly during a really dark time.
Part of me wonders how they didn’t blackmail and coopt him like everyone else. I also got the feeling that he was part of the Plan based on how he interacted with listeners and how he said (or didn’t say) some things
Those two guys are really good, but I always find it interesting that it takes two of our best to replace one Rush. He was that great.
I'm glad they kept everything.
