My husband went to Aldi and he was masking up and struggling with the QR code as he had left his glasses at home when an older man sidled up to him and said. ‘You don’t have to do that anymore Mate’. Bewildered, my husband asked him pardon? We don’t have to use our QRs, the NSW gov. has just announced it’. And masks follow in a short time.
To all those coppers that bashed, tasered, pepper-sprayed , used rubber bullets on people who lost teeth and eyes, broke bones, knocked people unconscious with truncheons, fined, intimidated, jailed, chased down with horses, sicced the dogs on people, mocked ‘protesters as Nazis’ etc. I hope you are bloody proud of yourself because you have caused a division and a gulf so wide in Australia that you will NEVER be respected or trusted again. I hope your pay grade was worth it. Your day of reckoning is fast approaching. The excuse of ‘I was told to’ won’t cut it.
I am not sure how it was in NSW, but out here in VIC, no one has given a crap about QR codes or whether you are wearing masks - even since a few months ago.
In the beginning everyone would line up and scan QR codes very religiously, but gave it up completely. As for masks, a lot of folks still wear them, but no one cares if someone doesnt. Infact recently I have noticed even in medical centers etc, the workers dont always wear a mask.
QR codes are gone here in Vic, but cafes and restaurants in particular are still asking for jab certificates although they don't read them and fake ones work just fine (so I believe...). Masks are not quite gone yet although I have never worn one, the government allows you to just say "I'm exempt" so you say those magic words and walk right in.
