Violence on the part of the state IS NOT the trigger for violence on the part of the protesters. The protesters will not react....because they have something to lose. These are largely independent businessmen (independent truckers) with families, property, and good futures. The state understands that....and that they can thus use force against them with little fear of immediate reprisal, unlike dealing with BLM/Antifa.
Ironically, the state is now doing its BEST to destroy that restraint on the part of the truckers by by taking away the things that moderate them ..... freezing their bank accounts, seizing their businesses and properties, and making noise about jailing them and taking away their children. DO THAT to a couple of hundred businessmen, and you'll have a full blown revolution, with men committed to the destruction of the government, and who won't stop until they have heads on plates.
So you draw the line at stand and get beaten but for God sake don't protect yourself because it only makes you look bad? We're at the point that some limited offense / defense is needed and this is a good way of doing it.
You go to a protest like the Trucker Convoy for a reason. To get your message out and encourage other Canadians to your side.
Obviously, blocking the roads and honking your horns won't change any politician's mind just because you are annoying them.
The pressure on the politicians is not going to come from you directly, it is going to come from all the rest of the country sympathizing with the protesters instead of the government.
