six of one, really. "social media" basically evolved from forums...

be tee dubs, if you're looking for another fairly based social media, there's always minds. pretty chill community, dunno if it's the semi-pretentious name or what, but I've only ever seen one flame war start, and that was over some passive aggressive asshat trying to start shit...

mostly, though, people will just give their opinion and disagree in a pretty friendly fashion, lol
