I just started listening to the Hobbit/LOTR on audiobook. The hobbit was INCREDIBLE. I’m on fellowship OTR now.
I will not accept drinking or drugging as an answer. If you “dabble” that’s cool but it’s not a hobby. If it’s all you do, I suggest learning a new skill.

I always loved the books, but haven't seen the movies. would a based 8 year old be able to watch them? so much crap out there, trying to find some good movies for him.
IMO the films would be a bit traumatic for an 8yo. The hobbit book might be accessible enough for him if he's a strong reader.
thanks and yes, he loves to read, so will get the book and see if he's even interested/might not be his thing.
Narnia for kids, written by one of Tolkien's best friends. Read them aloud before exposing the kids to any movies!
