I understand the concern but don’t understand why trucks are the target. Many Vans, minivans, and SUVs have the same issue. But newer cars also have sensors in the front and back, partially for this very reason. Running over kids because you can’t see them was a much bigger issue 40 years ago than it is today.
I think this is just unintelligent people finding something to be upset about.

To vilify truckers as murderers who blindly drive murder machines that you can't even let your toddlers get run over by and expect them to walk away unharmed.
I suppose, but I’m not convinced that everyone who agrees with this is aiming to demonize truckers — certainly some — but I can understand why these images would be alarming to some, especially to those unable to apply critical thinking.
