There is a difference between the truly mentally ill and weak-minded fools. The former have a hard time thinking; the latter have abdicated thinking.

That said, I will admit that many fools have worked themselves into paranoid delusions, which is the gateway to psychosis. It is analogous to someone who has chosen to become addicted to narcotics. The sickness is real---but the cause is within the person.
