I understand the tech, maybe in the future the sim card requirement will be dropped, but as long as it's in place, it's no different than telegram for privacy minded people (aka: avoided).

It will be. The goal is to replace Twitter, at least on the surface level. It will eventually operate just like Twitter.

It'll be in about a month. March 29th is about the latest I expect for it to have browser access.
