Currently Zelensky has been going on and on about how the West hasn't sent aid and troops to Ukraine while they are being "destroyed by the Vlad the Impaler".

All news sources are pushing this, making him sound so powerful and strong and brave. I believe there is a very important reason.

The guy who has been accepted as the underdog hero by all the normies, glued to their TVs, wiping tears at the prospect of him getting squashed by a Russian missile, start hearing all the deadly serious stuff they would never have opened their minds from any one else - not from Trump, not from Durham and definitely not for US.
