To give a gross-oversimplification, the history of mainland China is an endless loop of the Han Chinese getting beat and conquered by nomadic nations / they then infiltrate the governance of these new nations and break it down through political subterfuge to claim power and knowledge of the previous Nomadic nation that is now in shambles.
Half of mainland China's history was basically ruled by the nomadic regimes but you wouldn't know that based on how the Han Chinese likes to pretend they've been a master race throughout history.
