No, a couple of times he mentions going or getting to work. Remember when he walked through the kitchen? If he were just a customer, that cook would have been like, what are you doing? If you listen again, you'll hear him mention work. He even said he had a couple of shots with the cook when he got to work. Strange.
Never heard of a job where someone can turn up and proceed to get hammered, so I dont know what the hell is up with that. But being able to walk around the business in employee-only areas like the section leading to the trash outside, yeah thats something a person off the street would be yelled at for doing.
The whole situation is weird but with him lying to the cop about the crash circumstances, I assume therefore he would also lie about other things. And nothing makes sense because he is just too stupid to invent anything coherent or plausible.
I rewatched it. At the 1:30 minute, shortly after the cop shows up at the shop to question him, he says he was 'putting an order away.' Then at 12:56 he says, he 'had nothing to drink before' he showed up at work. Lastly, at 14:10 he says to the cop, 'and I went to work.'
When I first watched this, I thought, this can't be that Eric Coomer. I thought he was an older guy. But then with his stress comment at the end .. I thought, maybe it is him. A search of his name does bring up his picture. So this whole thing is bizarre. Curiouser and curiouser.
