Yucca Mountain was closed down many years ago because it ran out of capacity to store spent nuclear fuel. In other words, it's one giant sealed sarcophagus.
Thanks. When we left Vegas I tracked it for a while and they were saying they couldn’t store the fuel safely (which seemed ridiculous to me.) Last I knew they never used it, but I obviously missed the news at some point as I was busy raising kids 😊
