I know Bezos is suspect but how far down does the rabbit hole go?

And my friends wonder why I don't trade stocks beyond my 401k. Real estate and owning small businesses are how the little guy makes money these days. Just be careful of predatory regulators and corrupt municipalities...
Unfortunately there is no guarantee your 401K will even be relevant in the future.
I’ve been thinking deeply about potentially closing out my 401K (early distribution) affectively taking a tax hit NOW, then re-investing that money.
In my mind, I’ve already written off social security.
Social security is gone. Ponzi scheme bullshit criminal system just like everything else they implemented.
The whole damn thing is corrupt. If you look into wall st, which I'm sure you already know, it is all rigged and fraudulent.
This is the matrix we have to break out of. The whole system needs to be changed. I guess we're all going to have to go through some pain to get to the other side.
Agree with you and Jammyjams. Social Security will not be viable for much longer.
Once they start raiding 401ks though, that's the kind of thing that makes Kipling's proverbial Saxons begin to do more than just hate.
Sure
Real estate?? Tell that to anyone who bought prior to 08, and anyone who’s bought in the last 24mo. When these prices re-correct (and they will) people will be underwater on value for a decade or more. I can’t say I agree - I’m a “little guy” and I’ve made shit tons of money from the stock market before I even hit my early 30s. The last 5 years especially, but buying into the bottom of 2009 helped.
Timing is indeed everything. I bought several houses in 2005 and 2006, back when they were giving out >100% LTV mortgages like candy. Then moved and bought again at bargain prices in 2009 after the 08 crash. Now in my primary home since 2014. All along I kept those properties and am making decent returns. Real estate has worked out for me, but everyone's situation is different.
And rental properties. Ive bought a couple small houses and renovated them. They make for a nice steady income.
