If you're willing to put in the time, learning any language is much easier these days thanks to the Internet.
I studied Spanish for 4 years, and French for 1 year in high school, and 1 year of Spanish and German in college.
As a comparison, I studied Italian online.
While I can't speak Italian very well because I haven't practiced it enough, my reading and listening comprehension is roughly on a 6th grade level. In other words, I can read a newspaper article and get the gist of it without having to use a translation service.
Just a few days ago, I translated an Italian meme I came across and posted it-
It wasn't perfect, but close enough. I think I missed "Di Oggi" which would have translated as Today's and guessed Annegando meant drowning from the context.
It's easy to learn russian?
