Because the logs of the "hack" can prove that the evidence is inconsistent and has been doctored so they can catch someone like FBI dockoring the evidence against gen. Flynn. Once they find / proof the logs are inconsistent they win 2 things in 1 go:

if the logs "proving" the "hack" are fake - there was no hack, it was someone internal => investigation extended to include Seth Rich
the MSM narrative is destroyed
