I can understand what you are saying. People are trained to only receive their truth in a certain format and it has to be dry humourless corporate or government news.
When a person breaks free from this they can gain the confidence to get their news and understanding from informal sources which cite original information or cogent analysis, but until you get the confidence in your own discernment, I suppose it can be easier to judge a news source from its appearance.
