Does anyone know of water harvesters for your home in case if there is a collapse of our electric grid? With all the talk of food scarcity during this year and the next, I wanted to prepare my family as best as I could.
This solution I found is $5,500, was hoping there was a cheaper alternative, especially for an active duty military member(move frequently). https://allsustainablesolutions.com/zero-mass-water-sustainable-water-production/
For those that have not started preparing www.gardentowerproject.com is a great off grid survival solution.
Feel free to share other survival items here in your reply.
330 gallon IBC totes, daisy chained together and hooked to a large roof guttering system. Borax to purify and/or a UV sterilizer and RO filter for drinking.
If ya live in a humid area. A tarp and bucket will have you alittle condensation ready for ya when you wake up
I live along the east coast, densely populated. No space for a tarp outside sadly.
There was a few threads on this not long ago, here I'll help. https://greatawakening.win/p/142B0yUnWY/best-water-purifier-no-electrici/
Or direct to source, these are apparently very good. https://www.berkeyfilters.com/blogs/berkey-blog/can-you-really-filter-river-water-through-a-berkey
I'm not a prepper, but there are tons of less expensive alternatives. I would search youtube for DIY or lower cost solutions. I've seen them in the past.
I have a berkey already, absolutely love it. I am thinking of unable to safely transverse to a water source and coming back home. If I can avoid leaving the house for the first 3months after a collapse would be helpful.
