The elephant in the room regarding all of this is the total absence of United States satellite imagery to prop up this false narrative.

I'd imagine the IC doesn't want to give any Intel about how accurate or clear their spot satellites are, what they can see, what their abilities are. Military satellites can't cover everything everywhere either. There's lots more commercial grade cameras in orbit that with perfectly well enough for some things. The government will contract with some of these companies to get whatever imagery they may need. I've even seen a couple of companies that strictly study north Korea with their own satellites and sell such images to the government, academics, think tanks, whomever may need such imagery.
