1. They now control almost half the worlds Nickel output. Nickel is required to make Stainless Steel.
2. Since they have been cut off from SWIFT ... they are now demanding payment from Europe in the form of Gold bullion. Europe gets 80% of their 'energy' from Russia. Won't be long before Russia has all their Gold.
3. Russia doesn't have to sell it's oil to western buyers to get it to the the western economy. There are PLENTY of buyers out there who will broker that shit for a sliver of the sale price. Now that the price per barrel is double what it was last year, Russia doesn't give a fuk where it goes, or if they don't get top dollar.
