Before we take this at face value, let's keep in mind that propaganda is being churned out by both sides. Could this be Russian propaganda to incite Russian troops to fight harder? Could it really be the Ukrainian general's actual statement? Could it be Ukrainian propaganda, done without the general's knowledge, to affect the morale of Russian troops? I'm sure there might be other possibilities, but given the especially dense "fog of war" in this conflict, I don't believe everything I read, whether it comes from the White House, our MSM, our State Dept., NATO, Russia, or Ukraine.
