The Russian President was mid-sentence when a state broadcast cut to patriotic songs – prompting confusion among audiences.
He was speaking in front of 100,000 supporters at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium when the feed cut out and began playing a concert by singer and composer Oleg Gazmanov.
Well, I would imagine that Russian broadcaster have a couple of second delay like ours do on live events, so they can cut away if something not appropriate for TV happens (I think the US started doing it after some someone killed himself on live tv.)
So if there was an assassination attempt I could see the feed being cut and going to prerecorded stuff to keep everyone calm, though the use of that technique on radios in the Soviet block… eh I bet it just causes more panic.
Other possibilities would include equipment failure or a tech with too much vodka in him hitting the wrong button.
Definitely no assassination attempt.. Here is the full video, the drunk edit occured at 1:56.
