I wonder if the beef fat would make a good, dark roux as well as vegetable oil? 🤔 My husband is particular w/ his gumbo and I don’t really blame him with how much time and ingredients and love he puts into it. 🤷🏼♀️😂 Does beef fat have a high cooking temp?

I’m definitely going to try using beef fat instead of vegetable oil for our roux. I’ll just make a small batch of gumbo and do all the shortcuts my husband wouldn’t normally do, that way if it doesn’t turn out the way it should, it’s no huge loss of time or ingredients.
