Let me think about it. Making it exactly like a BBS might not be optimal because it was meant for bulk downloading updates over modem, then spend a day replying to all of them offline and the uploading them back over the modem.
Perhaps a software tha has the same look and feel but more suitable for online operation.
You’re describing an OG BBS. Or even FIDONET, which actually still does exist at the analog modem level in less developed countries for email.
I was not really thinking along those lines, I was thinking of the type popular just before the internet started to take over. Along with email, message boards and file downloads they also had real time chat and door games, like text based RPGs etc
Perhaps a repository for all the Ga archive material that we could all contribute to?
