“They always like to talk about the deep state. What I was saying is, what if we didn’t have a deep state? Do you know how fucked we would be if we didn’t have career politicians and career intelligence agencies. People who are there for a long period of time who do understand it.”
Rogan, who was speaking with former CIA covert operations officer Mike Baker, argued that President Joe Biden proves the importance of having a robust government made up of career civil servants.
“Listen, I’ve disrespected Joe Biden enough, I don’t think I should do it anymore,” he said. “I’ve said enough about him being mentally incompetent.
There's never really been any doubt that a deep state exists, but it's not the deep state that anons reference. The original meaning of the deep state was the legions of people in the day to day bureaucracy that actually run the government and aren't elected or Senate confirmed. This would be the individual people working for the parks department, the state department, the FAA, the intelligence communities, the IRS, or whatever else. The deep state was originally describing these people who work through whatever administration is elected and have the institutional knowledge to keep the gears turning day to do and do whatever is needed for their individual section of the foreign government. It wasn't until later and more recently that the term "deep state" was taken over by anons and used to describe what is really the cabal. But the terms are basically interchangeable and very rarely anymore actually references the day to day workers through multiple administrations that keep the gears turning and institutional knowledge.
No that's just the bureaucracy, nothing "deep" about it.
