Truly lost my big guy last week- 6 months old older half brother not doing well— dogs only make it to 12-14 years now days ( mine were not neutered males over 90 pounds) testosterone and estrogen helps prolong life — the lawn care chemicals/ bad kibble and neutering has really shortened canine lives
My dads dog ( poodle/ spitz cross) lived to 19 on table scraps... purina hit the market in the 40’s-50’s and everyone feeds kibble now
Everyone vaccinates the crap out of their dogs from 6 weeks till death when 75 years ago all that was vaccinated for was rabies— it’s amazing how puppies back then survived “parvo and distemper “- I’ve had 2 post distemper pups and 3 post parvovirus- natural immunity compared to a vaccine is very complete— I myself had red measles/ mumps / German measles ( Rubella)/ chicken pox/ fifth disease-/ contracted Pertussis ( cause only had the vaccine..) at 55 coughed my guts out but survived and am now forever immune— it’s so much better to survive to illness than the vaccine possible effects and reduced immunity
Pharma has messed up so many creatures. My parents have one of my dogs I had and she's 15. I'm surprised she's made it this long. I miss her and my two pups who've gone on.
1st time dog owner. I fell in love with a corgi puppy getting flowers for our anniversary. I was not an owner but snapped a photo of the little guy. Fast forward and showed the wife the kind of dog I would like to own. Still resisted getting one.too expensive too much trouble too much work. Well we found a breeder near our home and went to get one for our family. Holy moly did my wife and kids fall in love with him. I was worried but warned up to the little guy. Then wife wanted a playmate for our guy and I was more reluctant. Another one.well the kids and the wife surrenderd their Christmas for another little fella. So now we have two bundles of joy dancing in our lives. Dogs are wonderful additions to a family.
(hug) I am so sorry. Doggies are amazing and I'm glad those two got to make your life more joyful.
