Was just asked by the NYT what I thought about Judge Jackson’s nomination hearing.
Nominating a judge to the Supreme Court based on race and sex is the antithesis of American society.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII) makes it unlawful to discriminate against someone on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity) or religion.
Judge Jackson was illegally nominated.
If she was a legit nominee, she should also be disqualified because she was weak on child pornography sentences.
Child pornography sentences should have been what the prosecutors asked for, or more, but defintely not 50% less.
Judge Jackson has poor judgement.
Judge Jackson does not protect the most vulnerable people in our society and she is unfit for the Supreme Court.
I really doubt she'll be sworn. Mockingbird media is already pushing back on her meaning she isn't there to be nominated in the first place. More likely she is a distraction and a power play.
They’re pushing back on her? Where besides fox? And they’re controlled opposition.
Mockingbirds aren't pushing back on her at all. They're heaping on praise. These racist people don't dare criticize a black, female. She's a double-intersectional victim. The only thing that could criticize her is a black, female, lesbian Jew or Muslim at this point.
I don't think they anticipated the push back on her lax CP sentencing. They thought she'd be an easy confirmation because she'd already gotten the nod for the appeals court position.
There's hope, but not too strong. Romney's already disregarding the child porn issue as a distraction and political hit job. That's frankly unbelievable for a Mormon to do, but this guy manages to find a way in his mind to justify all sorts of unethical, immoral, and illegal behavior. Our RINOs are going to get this lady on the Court.
If you trust Mitch McConnell and his ilk that are giving articles like this "Supreme Court nominee comes under aggressive questioning by Republican senators" traction and https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/ketanji-brown-jacksons-nomination-may-not-be-enough-to-turn-out-black-voters-for-democrats/amp/
Then I don't believe you understand the pieces in the playing field. She is getting the prescribed amount of mainstream pushback. She will not be the nominee. Another is already planned, and likely more sinister. Only time will tell if course, but if I were in the cabal, I would make this play to pander to the lefties, then have those racists GOP as scapegoats. Then put my real nominee out there. Everybody wins, everybody looks good, the two parties continue the ruse of opposition. Of course normal people don't like this idiot woman and the talking points are obvious. Makes the news run, keeps the podcasters busy, and who knows what else is going on that is more important. The brown lady is too stupid to take seriously,I think it's pretty clearly planned. Again, only time will tell.
