I watch food prices closely. Today chicken at my local supermarket is 40% off, buy one get one and in some cases by 2 get one. I never see chicken this cheap. Beef is lower too. I’m stocking my freezer at this price. Anyone else seeing it? Jump on Instacart app and click show all deals.

Cooking destroys it. Unless you plan on eat it raw.
Wash your hands, and wash the chicken before cooking it.
But this is normal practice. My grandmother used to wash the chicken and then rub it inside and out with salt. She was born in 1899, and her mother worked in hotels as a cook, so they knew a bit about food hygiene.
The old ways are the best! I cut a chicken today. I read about rubbing salt under the skin. It’s salted & marinating. Was going to cook it tonight. Hubby’s plans changed so I’ll cook tomorrow. He has been soaking in them in salt water. I wasn’t a fan of this until I had chicken in salt vs no salt.
