Oil corporations want higher prices for higher profits. Why would oil companies be the ones to drill more and produce extra oil when that would drive down all gas and diesel prices? Oil corporations are getting twice the profit for extracting the same amount of oil. It makes no sense as a corporation for them to do that and drive their own profits down.
