I have laughed at people that say food shortages are coming. I live in a farm area and crops are doing excellent. The ground around here is expensive but good you can plant wheat without putting fertilizer but nobody has in eighty years cause other things sell for more. Now wheat is everywhere. I have Almonds but all the row crops are wheat. People like to leave fields blank, no more of that crap, lots of high producing stuff everywhere. I don't think we will starve but I don't know where the strawberries, melons and veggies will be grown.

The one near me is too big for the government to mess with. It's the small/mid sized operations that end up having to cull everything. Big ones have lawyers.

You need fertilizer at least in the form of manure otherwise there is no nitrogen compounds left in the soil after the current yield
Melon season for Central and S. America is winding down. It should be prime season for USA melons this time of the year coming up. But who knows?
Strawberry season this time of the year should be ramping up from California. But California has been having major issues with romaine and other leaf lettuces.
Surprisingly in the not so fertile soils of south Florida you have green bean farmers.
Certain stuff will get very expensive, some items may run out but famine won't hit America. When all the idiots were hoarding toilet paper, chicken and hamburger at the beginning of the scamdemic I just ate salmon and crab and wiped my ass with paper towels.
I live in the mountains so gardening, foraging, fishing and hunting is a way of life for me anyway but if I was in the city I'd just eat free pets from Craigslist. Always wanted to try iguana and turtle, can't be any worse than the rattle snakes I've shot and cooked up.
