Truth. If you don't stop doing hard drugs well into your 40s, you risk damaging your immune system irreparably.
I give thanks to God for ensuring my benders only lasted from ages 22 to 26. My immune system was heavily suppressed the entire time and I was constantly pale.
About 35% of that time i spent on extreme highs that blurred time as I nodded out through the days and was amped up on speed through the nights, existing in my own personal simulation where everything was love, the walls and floors became soft, music made the air emotionally charged as i hacked nostalgia into existing forever.
My life was a void of artificial feelings of happiness that I knew weren't real for those years, but it was better than anything I cared to deal with in real life.
The other 65% was spent hopelessly trying to sleep through intense night terrors the likes of which I never thought possible, or driving around town sweating bullets, desperately meeting up with drug dealers at unusual times to make sure I could stave off withdrawals for at least one more day...
Eternally grateful my body and immune system was able to recover from that hellish carnival ride, coming back even stronger than before. Rant over.
Glad you're doing good now. I need to stop drinking. I quit weed and other drugs. Recently quit smoking cigs too, which was something I never thought would happen. Thanks to a nic salt vape I'm now smoke free for 3 weeks.
As an ex smoker who tried to quit so many times including using vapes as well. Just quit cold turkey. That has provided me the longest success. Vapes are just a place holder for smoking and it has its own cons as well. But for me, I always relapsed bc the vape just made me want to smoke a cigarette. It’s the “ritual” that has to be broken
No I haven’t tried the nic salts. I just told myself I won’t smoke for a week and as a reward I would have one cigarette. But by the end of the seven days I didn’t even want that one cig. The first three days were the hardest. And yes there were days I really wanted that cigarette but just had to find something else to distract myself.
I heard somewhere everytime you want a cigarette just tell yourself you’ll wait five minutes. Sometimes that didn’t work but a lot of times after you make it through that initial craving you’ll find it easier to say no. For me it was important I didn’t replace one bad habit with something else. I also told myself if you want to cheat then you have to do a hundred push ups first. And boy did I not want to do those push ups.
I tried cold Turkey three times before it really stuck. I think what really made me change was when I had kids. I just don’t want to be sick. I wanted to give myself the best shot of being around for them.

Gotta kick the alcohol habit though.

Kudos on your success so far. JMHO
Did you ever try nic salts? I tried regular juice in the past but it didn't work.
