No, there are a couple of factors.
Most folks want a nice golf green type of yard. Some do plant some flower gardens but they buy pretty instead of smart. Certain flowers attract bees and butterflies.
Don't rake your lawn until end of April. It drives most people insane to wait that long but bee and butterfly larva are being born in those thicket patches and under those leaf piles.
Also, most sprays for grasses and spray fertilizers are poisonous to bees.
Bees will hit dandelions quite frequently if they're available as well. People don't like them, but they're great for bees.
I've been swinging this bat for years and years. We have hundreds of wild flowers we planted that grow in every year and are targeted to bees and butterflies. We also have a couple bee houses around the property. They come in a week or two before the overnight temp drop below 10 C. I've got 5 down there now, they go back out side over the next 2 -3 weeks depending on over night temps.
I don't have any bee houses, but I live out in the country. My flower beds have a lot of flowers and herbs the bees like, and they have what grows in the pastures, as well. I love working in the flower beds when the bees are buzzing because listening to them is so soothing.
I feel the same, seeing bees buzzing around is is a good feeling.
If people only knew how good dandelions are for you and bees they would leave them. Wonderful for tea.
