The golden rule often gets misconstrued and twisted by "the world".
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Mat 7:12, KJV)
Whatsoever ye would that men SHOULD do to you.
This word changes the meaning entirely if left out or changed. In the NIV this word is WOULD. Would could be any sinful desire. Another corruption by the cabal.
Obeying God's law is definitely eluded to with SHOULD DO.
God recognizes his son, Jesus giving us the two most simple commandments to obey that simplifies all law: Love thy God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Love thy neighbor as yourself. Im on your side!
"Love thy enemies" and "Do unto others" take on an entirely new meaning these days. It is humbling.

You are correct, im a KJV reader as well. I just typed in that quickly knowing that it would be generally understood.
I got you fren :)
Just clarifying for those that interpret the golden rule a different way. God bless you.
As much as lieth in you live peaceably with all men. Key being how much lieth in you? There are limits and God recognizes it.
