What they're asking for is outright impossible for binary computers to do. Any attempts at practical implementation would end up being either completely unusuable, or counterfeited into worthlessness in a matter of days. You'd need wacky sci-fi technology like cheap reliable hand-held quantum computers for this to be workable. And with that level of technology available to the masses, any sort of economy we could possibly recognize WOULD NOT EXIST. It would be like using teleporation and free interdimensional energy just to trade cowrie shells and goats.
At best this is just another dumb idea by dumb politicians who don't understand technology at all. At worst (and more likely) it's an excuse to lay the groundwork for destroying physical cash altogether.
Good news to hear I always thought it’s block chain but I’m not knowledgeable in any of this programming or hardware technology..I’ll leave that up to the experts - I think you reassured me at least this wouldn’t be available but of course they will ..as you say have an excuse to “attempt” their physical cash destruction - ty!
Won’t let me edit wonky today but H/T @snowdenisaspook on this one https://poal.co/s/QStorm/new
So not the central banks but US Treasury. What's the downside here?
Just to me any electronic monetary system is one of control they don’t like your views off goes through account they monitor most patriots in all E-commerce as it is now all reg flagged articles I’ve read in past on this. A major take away for me on this also is from article
“You’re holding the money on your device. If you lose your device, you lose the money — that’s the risk. Just like you lose your physical wallet on the train, you lose all the money inside the wallet.”
There it is no recovery system in place?
“The pilot program proposed by the ECASH bill will “complement the ongoing efforts of the Federal Reserve and President Biden to explore and advance potential design and implementation options for a digital dollar,” said Lynch. The initiative is not intended to rule out a Fed-issued CBDC, but exists in tandem with the “fedcoin”.
We are inching close af to their OWO currency in plan for ages - to me it’s all about control
