1 USD buys 87.4 Rubles now.
In January 1 USD bought 73 Rubles.
Therefore, the Ruble has lost value.
Ergo, people here saying the Ruble is “gaining” are clowns.
The chart OP attached to the post didn't show that. I was only going off the data shown there.

These comments are unsettling, because it’s as if this community has thrown those principles to the wind. It’s not your fault, and I’m honestly glad you’re recognizing that the chart provided isn’t even a fraction of the reality. Some of these people prefer to piss and moan, hiding behind downvote buttons before admitting they’re wrong.
Always, always confirm what you read. Here included. Whether bad actors or simply stupid people, false information like this topic always has an agenda behind it.
Agreed on all points. I'd add to this the adage "don't feed the trolls". 😉
It’s like a sour kid on the playing field who just lost a match, then decided to change the entire context of the game to fit his narrative.
😂
Huh? I'm just pointing out that based on the data shown by OP, the Ruble was gaining value compared to the dollar. If we zoom out further than a month, then we can see a better overall trend. This provides a clearer picture since you can see back nearly 20 years if you want: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/RUB=X/. Based on the 20 year window, the Ruble is continuing to lose value. I'm interested in seeing what happens if/when it's pegged to gold.
Apologies fren! I wasn’t clear in my comment… I wasn’t commenting about you but rather the dude you replied to (BillWhittle24).
