Silver lining in every cloud. Contrary to the doomers, a dedicated cellular resistance can defeat a larger, more well equipped force. The difference this time is the resistance will be in far greater numbers than the opposition and will be very well armed. Even the advanced weaponry of the US military cannot succeed in defeating small cells of resistance when they are more numerous than the inventory. In addition, the number of active duty members will be unreliable as well as the massive number of civilians that are required to maintain and train high tech weapons, communications and C5I electronic systems. Coupled with supportive non-combatant citizenry, you have an unwinnable fight. The largest cities will be uncontrollable, and this will be the highest concentration of the military, at least the ones that aren't already on our side.
