There's tons of vetting. But only for criminal charges and drug abuse, not anything else. They don't check the social media sites like they should. Like most other employers do now.
Oh, and the prospective new hire has to pay for the urinalysis & the FBI/NCIC background check.
Which has been made useless, since everyone and their dog can end up on that last for getting drunk and peeing in an alley. You have no idea if the guy down the street who is on the list did something stupid at a party when he was 18, or got let off of charges for killing and dismembering 11 kids.
Not sure how many have quit, but FL is already hurting for teachers and substitutes. My 2nd oldest son is a substitute for Volusia County, and he says one of the main reasons is unruly children that can no longer be properly disciplined because the Leftist parents and Leftist School Board members won't let the schools do what they need to do to reign in the students.
Not a fan of this type of action, I 100% understand why people call for this type of action, but ultimately what you are cheering on is the removal of due process and the concept of innocent until proven guilty. People advocate for this type of action usually because of a strong emotional response (women, children, and old people are the goto for propagandists because they evoke the biggest emotional, and likely illogical, response), but you need to take a step back and realize what you are actually advocating for. Remember that for government slippery slope is the name of the game, it's like the old saying that goes along the lines of "if during a time of crisis you allow the constitution and due process to be ignored, the government will then create further crisis to increase their power and ignore the constitution even more". Recognize that this type of action is a trap in that it gives the authoritarian precedent in future calls for removal of due process and innocent until proven guilty, except this time it might not be a situation you feel good about.
They pretend to do all this vetting in the hiring process.
It shows their preference and intent.
This snake starts at the head. If you don't can all board members and superintendents and principles and start over, you didn't do it right.

"There should be a JAIL CELL for teachers in Florida who quit because they can't teach five year olds about sex."
Fixed it for ya.
We already have one! The sex offender registry!

They will just move to the 4th grade where they can legally do that now.
The Okgroomers list
fully support ...
Black list em from ever teaching so much as how to wash your hands.
It should be easy to make something like that and put it out there.

In my eyes it is the same as being a pedophile to manipulate kids in regards to the topic, they are way too young for that
Nah, wouldn’t want the registry to keep them in a “meaningless” job. Just let them go, we can review payroll two years from now.
