Fagged = tired and worn out

Fagging, eg = The system of fagging, whereby younger pupils were required to act as personal servants to the most senior boys, was phased out during the 1970s and 1980s.
Faggotry = an offensive word for male homosexuality or behaviour thought to be typical of gay men.
Just like gay used to mean happy.
They've hijacked a number of words.
It's an interesting word, mainly related to the concept of "following." As in the "fag end" of a rope, being the cut-off end...that gets worn and tattered with use (as "fagged out"). Or being the follower of someone in school (his "fag"). Extending to intimacies with such followers.
So, "date-fags" or "plane-fags" are actually legitimate uses for people who follow certain subjects.
