I think what people don't realise is that the Computer Tech guy, Jack Maxey, Rudy and everyone else involved are just cogs in the machine. They are all doing their role as planned for them just like the bad guys. The real data is probably coming from NSA surveillence or something else like that. The Hunter laptop is just a cover to allow the drip drip of this info.
My best advice - when the fog of war is strong, just keep your eyes and ears open but dont jump to any conclusions.
Deleting is really just removing access from it (making it appear invisible) until it's overwritten with something else. It can't make info disappear, it can just write over it.
I do believe you can delete more than space on the hard drive
