This story broke just before the 2020 election and was used to sway voters away from Trump. They used the Whitmer plan to sway votes and also set up the pretext for what they had planned in Washington DC on January 6th. With the Whitmer kidnapping there was also a plan to storm the Michigan capital and overthrow the Michigan government. Here is text from the article below:

Although the overthrow of the Michigan government never came to fruition, the lead FBI agent in the Detroit office (Steven D’Antuono) was sent to DC to plan for the January 6th event.

Long story short, the media, FBI, DOJ (Merrick Garland), Nancy Pelosi and Biden conspired to set up the January 6th event and raise the threat level of white supremacy against our country and push the certification of the Biden presidency. The ongoing Democrat select committee is designed to hide these facts, hide the video evidence and take political prisoners.

The recent acquittal of the first January 6th prisoner is the crack in the dam. Defense lawyers argued the capital police waived him in. The same defense can be used for every other political prisoner being held.
