I don't disagree with this, but I don't think there's that many of this specific type of "freak" as the author of this article seems to think there is. Remember, WE are the majority. Besides, in my experience and observations, young people (Millennials and Zoomers) are nowhere near as woke or liberal as people seem to believe.
Most of these polls and studies are manipulated, weighted, and fake anyway so you can hardly use them for anything other than a base to see how desperate they are to push the narrative that young people are woke and liberal. Now having said that, you also have to consider, those that ARE woke and liberal are typically the loudest, most hysterical, obsessive, single minded, incels on the planet.
These are the people whose entire existence is that fact they're a woke trans-poly sexual faggot atheist with kool aid hair who have a "large" following on social media consisting of bots and other pedo fags. If everyone doesn't immediately bow down and praise them for breathing oxygen when they enter the room they'll throw a tantrum about being oppressed.
That is the demographic we're dealing with. It's VERY small, (4-6% of the population: Hint Hint) but they're VERY loud, VERY dedicated, and VERY stupid. They're the type to spend an entire month's salary on stupid crap from, in this case, Disney and complain on social media about how capitalism is evil because they no longer have money for food or rent and their landlord is the devil for evicting them after missing rental payments for half a year, because they have no sense of proper budgeting and spend every dime they get on toys and other infantile crap as an adult.
They were coddled and treated as if their turds were the greatest thing to ever grace the earth from childhood, never allowed to grow up, and now they're angry that their gender studies degree only qualifies them for a minimum wage job where they're unhappy and hate their life because everyone doesn't bow down to them and they can't spend every dime they have on stupid inane childish crap.
For the record, you have to put this stuff into perspective. 4-6% may not seem like a lot, and it ISN'T in the big picture, but when you're talking about a customer demographic it's rather big actually. 6% of the U.S. population is a little over 20 Million people. Now imagine having 20 Million people who spend every dime they get their mitts on buying your stupid crap.
It's a no brainer to cater to them. It's the same logic used for "freemium and pay to play" games. The money doesn't come from the casual customer, the money comes from the obsessive dedicated customer who spends 100 Times more than a normal customer on a consistent basis. Why cater to the fish when you have a fleet of Whales begging to hand over their blubber?
